Cette après midi j’ai parlé avec Julie en direct de Pelly Crossing Yukon.
Beaucoup de chose à dire, ce soir je me contenterai de parlé chiens.
Malgré un doute dans la tête de Denis, il a quand même prit le départ de la course avec une équipe qu’il jugeait la plus forte qu’il lui avait été de donné d’avoir. Arrivé à Breaburn les chiens étaient encore top shape, Karine qui agissait comme bénévoles à ce « check point » ma confirmé cette état de fait. À la sortie de Breaburn, environ 20 milles plus loin les chiens ont commencé à baisser de régime. Vomissement, chiasse, crampe au ventre sur 7 des 13 chiens restant dans l’équipe, vous connaissez Denis et Julie, pas question de courir dans de telle conditions, les chiens d’abords!!!! Denis a avisé les vétérinaires de la situation à son arrivé à Carmack, les chiens ont aussitôt été mit sous antibiotiques. Ne restait que 6 chiens encore dans les règles, avec les montagnes à venir non non non.
Les chiens reviendront au chenil de Normand et Karine ce soir pour poursuivre leurs traitements.
Je reviendrais demain avec l’aspect humain.

I have a lot to thing to tell you all, but tonight all stick whit the dog’s part of the story.
Even if Denis had a doubt about the condition of the team he toke the start of the race whit the strongest team he had to drive since is drive dogs. At Breaburn check point the team was still looking very good, Karine that was the volunteer at that check point as confirm me that last night. 20 miles in the run to Carmack the dog’s had a drop in there power. Vomit, flue and stomach cramp for 7 of the dog left in the team. You know Denis and Julie; no way will the dog will race into those conditions. Arrived at Carmack Denis advised the vet team about that condition and the dog have been put on medication immediately. Whit 6 possible left in the team, impossible to take over the mountain to come. The dog will return this evening to Normand and Karine kennel for further care.
All come back tomorrow for the human part of the story.
